Description
This one-of-a-kind flannel shirt is a perfect example of Philadelphia artist Hilary Henwood’s signature approach, taking forgotten materials and giving them a second life through thoughtful, hands-on craftsmanship.
The base is a soft, striped flannel button-down (Goodfellow & Co., size XL), reimagined with a reclaimed fabric panel hand-sewn onto the back. The patch features a playful, vintage-style illustration reading “Florida Wrestling Club” complete with alligators, humor, and storybook charm.
Rather than printing or mass-producing, Hilary sources existing textiles and carefully integrates them into new compositions. The result is a wearable collage—equal parts clothing and art piece.
Each stitch is visible, intentional, and human, embracing imperfection as part of the design.
